****************************************************************************** September 12th & October 17th - Door Creek Workdays

Join the Office of Lakes and Watersheds, Friends of Lake Kegonsa Society and Capitol Water Trails as we begin restoration efforts in the Door Creek Watershed. A series of workdays is scheduled consistent with implementation of the Door Creek Watershed Action Plan. For more information on the plan (currently under review by DNR and EPA) please contact the Dane County Land and Water Resources Department.

Volunteers will work to clear downed trees and remove trash along the stream bank. We will focus on the stretch south of Highway MN heading towards Lake Kegonsa. Volunteers should count on getting a little messy, so please dress appropriately. It’s recommended to wear a pair of close-toed shoes and clothing that dries easily. Also, bring a hat and water if it's hot and sunny.

Time and Place: There is no direct access parking lot. Volunteers should park along Highway MN near the bridge crossing at Door Creek.   We will meet at the Highway MN bridge at 8:45 a.m. (15 minutes prior to the start time). The entire workday runs from 9 a.m.-12 p.m.

Contact: Any questions can be directed to Susan Jones at, or by office phone at 608-224-3764.

Contact Steve Falter, Capitol Water Trails, the day of the event at 608-712-3806.
