Road Work on County Highway B

This is a 2.5 mile project along the north edge of Stoughton. It is anticipated to start in July, 2023 with replacing 2 culverts under CTH B. Following the culvert replacements, 2.5” will be milled off the CTH B existing pavement and a 5” hot mix asphalt overlay will be placed in 2 lifts. Dane Co. crews will then add 2-ft wide aggregate shoulders and pavement markings. Completion is anticipated in late Summer of 2023.

Traffic Control

County Highway B will be closed to through traffic during this project, but homeowners and emergency services will still have access to all properties.

There will be 2 daily closures about 7:30 am to 4:00 pm for culvert replacements. Traffic will need to use alternate routes from about 7:30 am to 4:00 pm on the day of each replacement. Message boards will be used to give advance notice of closures. For the safety of our crews, residents are encouraged to slow down and be alert when using an active construction zone to access their driveways. Identify alternate routes so the closures will be less disruptive. Avoid the active construction zone during the work day if possible. During paving operations, 1 lane will be closed and traffic will be regulated by flaggers. Expect delays and use alternate routes if possible.
