The Town emergency medical services are divided between three area emergency medical service agencies. The Town has established service contracts with the City of Stoughton EMS, Deer-Grove EMS, and the Village of McFarland EMS to provide these services. Each of these agencies is staffed with full-time, part-time, and volunteer with a minimum of state and national certified emergency medical technician level qualifications; Deer Grove EMS provides advanced life support/paramedic level certified care. The Dane County 9-1-1 center will dispatch the nearest and most readily available EMS to your emergency. What to do in an Emergency? The very first thing one should do is call 9-1-1. The 9-1-1 emergency dispatcher will ask you for information on the nature of the emergency and can provide you with guidance and basic first aid assistance while they dispatch the nearest emergency medical service to your location. The Town fire protection services are allocated to three area fire departments. The Town has established service contracts with the City of Stoughton, Village of Cottage Grove, and Village of McFarland, to provide services to the Town of Pleasant Springs. Each of these agencies provides full-time, part-time and volunteer staffing with state certified fire officers, firefighters, and equipment engineers. In the Event of a Fire In the event of a fire, always call 9-1-1 first and foremost. In the event of an emergency please call 911. For non-emergency requests call(608) 266- 9122. The Sheriff’s Office is the largest law enforcement organization in Dane County, and the fourth largest in the State of Wisconsin. |

Burning GuidelinesTown of Pleasant Springs residents do not need a permit to burn.Procedure: Call the appropriate fire department non-emergency number and register your burn with them. Let the department know when, where, and what you will be burning.
If you are unsure of which fire jurisdiction you are in, contact office staff at (608) 873-3063. Do not burn when conditions are overly dry or windy. Check the current fire danger at: dnr.wi.gov/topic/ForestFire/restrictions.asp Fire must be extinguished within one half hour of sunset. Any smoldering material counts as a burning fire. Keep the burning pile small, and no bigger than 4’ x 4’. You may burn yard waste and clean, untreated wood from a single family or household on the property where it is generated ONLY. You may NOT burn for others. NEVER LEAVE THE FIRE UNTIL IT IS COMPLETELY OUT. YOU MUST ATTEND THE ENTIRE BURN; THIS INCLUDES SMOLDERING ASHES |
